St. Joseph's Triumphs Again!
St Joseph’s Primary and Nursery School Crumlin were awarded the NI EFQM Quality Award at a glittering ceremony held in the Ramada Hotel Belfast in January. The Northern Ireland Quality Awards measure Northern Ireland’s private, public and voluntary organisations against the globally recognised European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model. Various levels of recognition are presented with St Joseph’s achieving the top award!
Mrs Wegwermer, accepted the award on behalf of the school community and said, “Striving for excellence requires a dedicated team effort by everyone associated with the school. It is the dedication, commitment, enthusiasm and sheer hard work that help establish an ethos and culture where high expectations are the norm. Our parents deserve great credit for sharing and supporting the school in the education of their children. I am really delighted that the work of so many is recognised by this achievement.”
Involvement in the EFQM Excellence model has brought many benefits to our school. We have developed a strategic approach to managing and measuring our improvements and have developed as a high-performing organisation. It has helped us identify key areas for improvement, set specific targets and measure our success. It broadened our outlook in terms of seeking improvements for our pupils, parents, staff, partners and the wider community we serve.
Links with other organisations provided us with the opportunity to benchmark and develop a more creative approach to delivering our key processes.
Our mission is to ‘Nurture all individuals in their life-long journey to achieve their full and unique potential.’ The model provided the framework to achieve excellence throughout the school. Achieving the NI Quality Award has confirmed our culture of excellence and our drive to provide an ever improving service to the community.
