PSQM Celebration Event

On Friday 17th January Mr Traynor and Mrs Downey (PSQM Co-ordinator) travelled to the Dunsilly Hotel in Antrim to officially receive our PSQM Award which the school had been notified about in June.

The evening represented an excellent opportunity to celebrate the excellent science work which has been going on in schools and we were delighted to be acknowledged as one of only 9 schools across Northern Ireland to have received the award during the school year 2019-20.

Attending the presentation were representatives from EA (Education Authority), CASS, ASE (Association for Science Education) and ETI (Education and Training Inspectorate).  A very enjoyable evening was had by all who attended.

We also held our own celebration event in school where representatives from each Year Group came along to Mr. Traynor's office for some celebratory cake.

Many congratulations to Mr Downey who co-ordinated the project, to all of our staff for providing such interesting, imaginative and varied science opportunities and to all of our wonderful pupils for all their scientific endeavours.

Science and Technology is alive and well at St. Joseph's!
