Global Handwashing Day
The 2020 Global Handwashing Day theme is “Hand Hygiene for All.” The stated aims of Global Handwashing Day are to:
- Foster and support a general culture of handwashing with soap in all societies.
- Shine a spotlight on the state of handwashing in each country.
- Raise awareness about the benefits of handwashing with soap.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's theme follows the recent global initiative calling on all of society to scale up hand hygiene, especially through handwashing with soap. Therefore, this year more than any other it is particularly important that we mark this day with the children and reinforce the message about the importance of maintaining good hand hygiene, both at school and at home.
