REDEDICATION OF THE STATUE OF ST. JOSEPH
Mr. Traynor:
You are most welcome to this special service for the rededication of the statue of St. Joseph on this the 1st of May, the Feast Day of St. Joseph, patron saint of workers. This rededication of the statue of St. Joseph is an invitation to each of us to renew our commitment to the values and principles that St. Joseph embodies – humility, dedication and unwavering faith.
Today, we gather not only to honour St. Joseph but also to celebrate the development of another sacred space within our school grounds. This new space will serve as another place of reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth for all, reinforcing our school mission to strengthen faith and encourage contemplation.
As we come together today, we also mark a significant milestone in our school's history. This year, we celebrate 110 years of providing primary education and 25 years of nurturing young hearts and minds in our nursery. These milestones remind us of the enduring legacy of our school and the countless lives that have been touched by the education and values imparted here.
This year is particularly special as it has been designated a Jubilee Year; the theme being ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. As a school community this is a time to reflect on our journey, renew our commitment to our school mission, and look forward with confidence and optimism. Just as St. Joseph embarked on his pilgrimage journey with faith and trust in God's plan, we too are on a pilgrimage journey. We walk together, guided by faith, hope, and love, towards a future filled with promise and possibility.
Let us now open our hearts and minds as we begin this prayer service, asking for St. Joseph's intercession and blessings upon our school, our pupils, our staff, our parish and our wider school community. May this rededication be a source of inspiration and strength for all of us. Let us carry forward the legacy of St. Joseph, nurturing the seeds of hope within our hearts and fostering a school community grounded in faith, love and service.
