St Joseph’s Chess Tournament 2026

From an impressive field of 56 Key Stage 2 competitors, we are now down to the final four in this year’s St Joseph’s Chess Tournament.

Next Monday, 22nd June, our finalists will go head-to-head to decide 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the tournament.

Congratulations to our finalists:

  • Ryan – Favourite chess piece: The Rook, because it can be sacrificed to secure checkmate or win an additional piece.
  • Michael – Favourite chess piece: The Bishop, for its ability to move diagonally across the board.
  • Shea – Favourite chess piece: The Rook, as it is a strong and reliable defender.
  • Nicholaj – Favourite chess piece: The Knight, because it can jump over other pieces.

We look forward to a fantastic final and wish all four pupils the very best of luck!
