  • P5 Hurling Coaching with Ulster GAA and Gaelfast

    Thu 23 Oct 2025

Over the past six weeks, our Primary 5 pupils have had the fantastic opportunity to receive hurling coaching from Pádraig Dorrian of Ulster GAA and Gaelfast. The children have been developing their hurling skills, focusing on striking and catching the sliotar with growing confidence and enthusiasm.

We are also grateful to Loch Mór for their support in delivering these sessions. The coaching has been a brilliant experience for our pupils, helping them build new skills and enjoy active learning.

Thank you to all the coaches involved!

  • Together in Spirit: All Saints and Souls October Golden Assembly

    Wed 22 Oct 2025

We celebrated our October Golden Assemblies with joy and pride! Pupils from Years 1–3 and Years 4–7 gathered for two uplifting assemblies, both beautifully led by our Year 4 children. A special highlight was the Prayer Service, performed by Year 4 to mark the Feast Days of All Saints and All Souls. Their thoughtful reflections, prayers and singing made for a very meaningful celebration.

During the assemblies, pupils were recognised for their achievements with Year 1 & 2 Headteacher Awards, Pupil of the Month and Accelerated Reading certificates. We also celebrated success beyond the classroom, delivered some important messages and reminders and wished all our October birthday girls and boys a very happy birthday!

  • Little Teacher, Big Lessons – Roots of Empathy with Freya

    Tue 21 Oct 2025

Mrs. Wray’s P6 class had another special visit from baby Freya and her mummy Geraldine, as they explored Theme 2: 'Crying' in their Roots of Empathy programme.

Crying is one of the very first ways babies communicate. Whether Freya is tired, hungry, or just needs a cuddle, her cries tell us that something important is going on. And through watching and talking about her cues, our pupils are learning to be more understanding, more compassionate, and more in tune with the feelings of others.

  • Year 7 Celebrate Samhain at CIC

    Tue 21 Oct 2025

Our Year 7 pupils had a wonderful time visiting Crumlin Integrated College for a special cultural celebration themed around Samhain—the final harvest and the beginning of winter, traditionally considered the Celtic New Year. The event was part of the college’s new initiative to celebrate culture and promote the Irish language in a warm and inclusive setting.

Pupils took part in a range of hands-on activities including Irish singing (Amhráin Gaeilge), storytelling and folklore, traditional cooking, and dancing. The sessions were lively, educational, and full of fun, helping pupils connect with Irish heritage in meaningful ways.

A huge thank you to Miss O’Kane, Mr Conlon, and the team at Crumlin Integrated College for their warm welcome and for creating such a memorable experience for our pupils.

  • Mr Traynor Celebrates Our Work

    Mon 20 Oct 2025

Each term, our principal Mr. Traynor proudly celebrates the outstanding work of pupils across the school through a special whole-school display. From Nursery to Year 7, every class is represented with a carefully chosen piece of work that highlights effort, creativity, and achievement across a wide range of subjects and skills.

This term’s display showcases everything from imaginative writing and problem-solving in maths, to expressive artwork, STEM investigations, topic work, and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the fantastic start we’ve made to the school year and to recognise the talents and hard work of our pupils.

The display not only celebrates individual and class success, but also strengthens our sense of community, pride, and shared achievement across the school. It’s a powerful way to highlight pupil voice and showcase the rich learning taking place each term.
