Many thanks to all our Nursery parents for attending the Nursery Curriculum Evening and to the Nursery staff for organising a very informative and enjoyable evening for all in attendance.
Congratulation to all our Year 3 pupils who celebrated their Service of Enrolment in Mater Dei Church. They were all amazing. Many thanks to the Year 3 staff for their hard work in preparing the children, to Canon Colm who led the service and to all those family and friends who came along to the service. Well done girls and boys.
We were delighted with the response to our Hallowe'en Costume Swap. To date the Eco-Committee have raised over £100 which will be used to purchase some plants to enhance our outdoor science classroom. There are still some costumes available for those who still want to have a look. Well done and thank you to everyone who donated a costume and helped with this project as part of our programme to mark Recycling Week.
As we approach 'Love your Library Day' which is celebrated as part of Book Week NI a number of our Year 4 and 5 pupils had a visit from our local librarian Claire. Claire read the children lots of stories which they really enjoyed listening to and chatting about. We are very lucky to have an active library service in Crumlin and we look forward to our inperson visits throughout the school year.
Many thanks again Claire for today's visit and the Book Week NI book marks.

During Week 3 the children focused on making larger shelters for themselves and their friends using many materials from the forest area itself.
During Week 4 the children focused on rebuilding and refurbishing our existing bug hotels for our 'little guests' over the autumn and winter months.
The eco warriors are certainly continuing with their quest - well done boys and girls!

Oh what a night! An absolutely fantastic turnout, brilliant fun and an overall resounding success. Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first ever Blingo PTA fundraising event, all those businesses who sponsored or donated a prize and to the Friends of St Joseph's for all their work in organising such a successful school community event.
Final fundraising total to be announced .... all funds raised will be used to support the purchase of resources to be used directly with the children in school. Thanks again and here's to the next event!
On Sunday 1st October 6 of our Year 7 pupils along with 3 of our teachers headed off to Bath England as part of our Erasmus Programme. Our second Erasmus project with our partner schools in UK, Spain, Denmark and France, is called ‘Building a Better World’. Erasmus is a British Council Initiative which allows schools throughout Europe to be partnered together to work on different topics and activities.
In Bath the St Joseph's clan joined other visiting schools from Spain, France and France for a 5 day educational visit. All involved had an amazing time and there were a few very tried boys and girls (and teachers too) who returned back to Belfast International airport on Thursday afternoon!
We celebrated the National Day of Prayer with the Faith Group leading their final Prayer Service for Mission Week Ireland. Each class prayed a decade of the Rosary and children were presented with medals, rosary beads and a pocket prayer booklet from St Patrick's Missionary Society, Wicklow.
