Years 2-5 kicked off Children's Mental Health Week with a brilliant online Art lesson with Sinead McDermott from the Art and Design Factory.
The aim was to create a landscape painting based on the work of David Hockney. The children produced lots of great work and picked up some great tips.
A lovely way to spend a Monday morning.

Today we had our breakfast together as a class in the canteen, this was before we went to Crumlin Integrated college for our shared education lesson. We played people bingo, ridiculous riddles, maths problem solving activity and parashoot and beanbag games. We also got to have outside break with our new friends and we are looking forward to our next lesson together.
A number of our boys and girls attended the 7-a-side School's League at Allen Park on Wednesday the 1st of February. Both teams attending showcased some wonderful skill, attitude, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day which led to them producing a string of outstanding team performances and results. Well done boys and girls!

On the eve of St Brigid's Day (1st February) Year 6 mark the feast day celebrations of this special Irish saint by carrying on the tradition of making St Brigid's Crosses from rushes.
A big thank you to all our Year 3 Grandparents, extended family and friends who came into school today to hear the beautiful singing, storytelling and poetry of our children. Visitors were then invited to spend some time with the children in their classrooms.
Thank you to Mrs Weldon and her team for the beautiful scones.
Also, a big thank you to the Year 3 teachers and classroom assistants for the beautiful gift the children made for their Grandparents.
Well done all - this was indeed a very fitting conclusion to our celebrations for Catholic Schools Week.
Primary 5 attended an Educational Visit to Crumlin Library on Friday 27th January. They had a very special experience during their visit. They met local author Joe Richardson, author of 'The Animal in Amy.'
He read excerpts of his new novel to the children and they were able to find out lots of information on what it is like to be a writer today. Joe gifted each child with a signed bookmark and the class a copy of his new novel.
This was indeed a wonderful experience for our children!
Good luck to all our pupils who will be taking part in the Camlin Credit Union Quiz on Friday 27th January at 7.30pm. St Joseph's will be the venue this year!
