National Parliament Week

To mark  ‘National Parliament Week’ in our school, our Year 7 children had a visit from a local councillor.  Mr Thomas Burns, a former MLA, had a ‘Question and Answer session’ with our Year 7 children in our Minor hall.  Mr Burns talked to the children about his role as a local councillor and about his experiences as an MLA at Stormont.  Our Year 7 children asked questions like:, What is it like to be a Councillor?, Have you ever met the Prime Minister? What issues are you working on now in and around Crumlin? and What are your thoughts on the USA election! Mr Burns helped to explain words like constituency, objective, assembly and manifesto.  Thank you so much to Mr Burns for helping our Year 7 children learn more about local politics!
