Congratulations to the Boys' Gaelic Football Team who travelled to Creggan GFC to take part in the SW Antrim 7-a-side Gaelic Football Tournament.
There was great team work and skill displayed and the boys did St Joseph's proud qualifying for the quarter finals of the Fee MacGorman Cup section of the tournament.
Thank you to Creggan PS for hosting such a great tournament.
Well done boys!
Our Boy's Soccer Team embraced their first four games of Term 3 during this week’s round of the Antrim and Newtownabbey Boys' Soccer League with enthusiasm, sportsmanship and skill recording 2 wins and 2 losses. The boys looking forward to participating in the next round of the tournament.
We are delighted to have commenced the off‑road Cycling Proficiency Scheme with our Year 7 pupils today. Under the guidance of Mrs Campbell and Mrs Downey, pupils are developing essential cycling and road safety skills through a carefully planned programme of both practical and theoretical learning.
The off‑road, playground‑based sessions provide a safe and supportive environment in which children can build confidence, improve competence, and learn how to cycle responsibly. This programme plays an important role in helping pupils understand road safety and promotes healthy, active lifestyles.
We look forward to seeing our pupils continue to grow in confidence as the scheme progresses.
We are delighted to let you know that our School Book Fair will run from Thursday 16th April to Monday 20th April.
All classes have been timetabled to visit the Book Fair during the school day, giving every child the opportunity to browse and enjoy the wonderful range of books available.
You can view a selection of the books that will be available at our Book Fair by clicking the link below:

Please note that books can be paid for online in advance or with cash on the day of the Book Fair. Unfortunately, card payments cannot be accepted in school.
All money raised through commission will be reinvested directly into the school to purchase new books, supporting and enhancing our reading schemes and Accelerated Reading Programme.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support in helping us to promote a love of reading within our school community.

We would like to wish our school community a very Happy and
Egg-citing Easter Break.
From all at St Joseph's!

St. Joseph's launched our Charity Campaign 2026 at the beginning of Lent.
Copper Coin Challenge: For 4 weeks during Lent all classes were collecting 1p and 2p coins. We have been amazed at the response with a fantastic £481 being raised in coppers in such a short period of time. Congratulations to all the classes on such a sterling effort - the saying 'Every Penny Counts' certainly does ring true on this occasion. A special congratulations to Mrs. McDonnel's Year 1 class who were the highest collectors in Years 1-3 and Miss McMullan's Year 6 class who were the highest collectors in Years 4-7. After Easter both classes will be awarded with a party supplied by Mr. Traynor.
Holy Week Charity Campaign: During Holy Week our charity campaign continued. There were lots of activities organised to include Bring a Toy Day, Nursery Easter Bonnet Parade and Name the Duck - this year it was called 'Waddles'. Eight children guessed correctly and after a raffle it was won by Shannon Lawless with all children receiving an Easter Egg for great guessing.
Year 7 Entrepreneurial Afternoon: Our Year 7 pupils were amazing and organised a host of stalls making, decorating and selling a variety of products. They were just amazing - fabulous creativity and entrepreneurial skills on display. The total raised so far from this very successful afternoon; a fabulous £483. Dragon's Den better watch out!
We look forward to announcing our final total when we return to school after the Easter Break. Well done to all and thank you for your continued generosity and support. It means so much!
'For it is in giving that we receive.' St Francis of Assisi
Many thanks to our Year 6 children on their wonderful Easter assembly.
They presented 'The Passion of Our Lord' to the children in Years 4-7 and to parents, family and friends in a very meaningful and powerful manner which allowed all present to reflect on the key days and moments of the Easter season.
Thanks also to the Year 6 staff who guided the children in what was a very poignant and reflective ceremony.
'Because by thy holy cross, thou hast redeemed the world'.
A lovely Easter surprise awaited our Tots and Tea group this morning when the Easter Bunny paid a special visit, bringing Easter eggs for all the children. It was a joyful moment that delighted not only the little ones but the adults too. Our sincere thanks to Aimee from the Friends of St. Joseph’s for all her hard work in organising these weekly sessions.
Tots and Tea will recommence for Term 3 in the Minor Hall on Wednesday 15th April, after the Easter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back.
Did some bunny say it's nearly Easter?
Such eggsitement in our Nursery Unit today with some 'cracking' Easter bonnets on parade. Congratulations to all who took part. The Easter Bunny hid some very special treats along the way. However, all the boys and girls searched very hard and managed to find where he had hidden all those lovely chocolate eggs!
After some outdoor party games everyone headed back to the Minor Hall and guess what? - The Easter Bunny joined the children in the hall and danced along with all the nursery girls and boys. He certainly is a great dancer!
Thank you so much to the parents, grandparents, family and friends who came along and took time and great care to create the wonderful pieces of art the children wore.
HAPPY EASTER FROM ALL AT ST. JOSEPH'S NURSERY!
