Many thanks to all the wonderful parents and children who made such fabulous Easter Bonnets for our Parade around the school. The Easter Bunny visited the Nursery whilst the children went on the parade and hid an Easter egg for every child in Nursery which they found on their return. Many thanks to all for their kind sponsorship for a very worthy cause.
As part of fundraising efforts during Lent our Year 6 children held their annual fun day for Trocaire this afternoon. Many thanks to all the parents who helped the children with all their fantastic ideas.
Many thanks to Pricilla and Mary Clare who came in today to speak to everyone about Deaf Awareness. The children watched a Flintstones cartoon, played a game and were able to learn how to sign their names to their friends.
Many thanks to Crumlin Integrated College who organised a special celebration of Gaelic Football on the 3g pitch at Crumlin Leisure Centre. It was great to see 41 children playing together and having such fun.Thank you to Mr McCullagh and Mr McMullan for refereeing each of the games. All who attended got lovely medals and a commemorative plaque was given to each school. A great afternoon of sport!
Thank you to all our Year 3 children who came to school for their special book read at bedtime. Mrs Mulholland, Mrs Cunningham and Mr Traynor read each of the classes a few bedtime stories as the children were all dressed in their pyjamas and hugging their favourite teddy. Thank you to all involved.
What an amazing performance of song, dance, drama and prose from our superstars in Year 2. They were just fantastic. Many thanks also to the St. Joseph's Irish dancers who entertained us so well at the St. Patrick's Day concerts. Thank you to the year 2 team and Mr Cunningham and Mrs Campbell for all their hard work.
Congratulations to our wonderful Year 3 children on making their First Confession. Many thanks for the beautiful singing and mime and to Fr Chris and Fr Colm for making the service so special.
Many thanks to all our parents who brought in so many bags for our recent collection. Our Eco team helped to round up the swarm of black bags and ship them out of St. Joseph's to be recycled. You can still continue to drop black bags into the school office as we build up to our next collection.
Our children had wonderful workshops with local author Liz Weir who visited each of our year groups and gave them some special tips on how to improve their literacy. The children listened so attentively and learned so much from this amazing visitor.
Thank you to Mr Duffy's Year 5 class for their fantastic assembly on St. Patrick. We enjoyed the singing in Irish and hearing the story of our patron Saint.
