We would like to wish our school community a happy, peaceful and safe Christmas break and every blessing for good health and happiness in 2023!
From all at St Joseph's!
What a wonderful treat to finish Term 1 in school ..... a music demonstration from the EA (NE Region) Staff Orchestra.
The perfomance began with a Christmas Story set to music and was followed by a programme which outlined the instruments of the orchestra in a fun but informative style. There were many opportunities to listen to some beautiful Christmas carols and music being played. Indeed there were also opportunities for some audience participation playing a variety of percussion instruments. The orchestra even had their own conductor, specially chosen from our Year 2 pupils.
Many thanks to Mr Lowry and his team for coming along and sharing this magical Christmas performance with our pupils and staff.
Merry Christmas!
What an entrance Santa made to St Joseph's for our whole school community on Christmas Jumper Day.
Santa's sleigh was in getting repaired this morning for Christmas Eve so he decided to use Mr Kieran Winters Limousine Company for that added touch of comfort.
Thanks Santa for coming along and meeting and chatting to the boys and girls - they loved it. It just made our Christmas Jumper Day so special.

We celebrated the end of another very successful term with our End of Term Golden Awards to includes subject awards, Pupil of the Month, Principal Endeavour and Accelerated Reading. Achievement in a variety of extra-curricular areas was also celebrated. Well done everyone!
Congratulations to our Year 7 pupils who led a beautiful Carol Service in Mater Dei. Those who attended were so impressed with the singing, acting and dramatic talent of the boys and girls.
They were accompanied by our fantastic School Orchestra and Traditional Group who played so well and made the occasion extra special.
Thank you to Mrs McDonnell, Mrs Matthews and the Year 7 team who organised the event and well done to all involved.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son”
Our Faith Group had a difficult time judging the Christmas Nativity Colouring Competition. They worked well in groups to choose the final enteries to be sent off for judging. Well done to all who entered and to our Faith Group for their judging skills and promotion of Advent on a daily basis throughout the school.
Today our Year 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils were treated to a fabulous performance by Mr Herron/Mrs McDonnell and their pupils. 'Santa's Silly Strings' and 'Santa's Silly Strummers' performed a number of Christmas classics and Mr Heron played a beautiful cello solo of 'Do You Hear What I Hear?'. What a wonderful way for our children to see the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for them when they get bigger! Well done to all Mr Herron and Mrs McDonnell's pupils for all their hard work.
A massive congratulations to our Year 1 and 5 pupils on their performances this week. The children performed to the whole school over two shows and to parents on Thursday. They sang, acted and danced with such great enthusiasm. A really beautiful occasion for all who attended – the children were quite simply outstanding, giving such a wonderful message about the true meaning of Christmas and putting us all in a wonderful Christmas spirit. Many thanks to the Year 1 and 5 teams for all the hard work.
