There was lots of festive spirit in school today. Everyone looked so well in their Christmas attire - a great selection of socks, dresses, jumpers and hats to name but a few were on display!

Indeed just this week the Friends of St Joseph's were able to make a very kind donation of a flourscent jacket to each child in school to help ensure their safety on the way to and from school. These should come in very handy indeed over the Christmas period!
The children in the Nursery Unit had a great time at their recent Christmas Zumba and Balloon Party in the main school hall. There are certainly a lot of very excited boys and girls waiting patiently for Santa to arrive on Christmas Eve!
Congratulations to Mr McCarthy's Year 7 class who were rewarded with a class party for coming top of the leader board in our latest accelerated reading competition. It was a closely fought contest with Mrs Matthew's year 5 class narrowly missing out on the top spot. We are delighted with how the children are using the programme and are amazed at the number of children who have achieved awards for 100,000 words and 500,000 words read. We even have AR Word Millionnaires and our first Double AR Word Millionnaire this term.
Congratulations boys and girls - keep up the great effort!
What a surprise the children in the Nursery Unit had today when Santa came along to visit. There was so much excitement and lots of fun to be had by all!
Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas!
This year, the children in Years 2, 4, 5 and 6 were asked to support a charity based in Belfast called ‘Belfast Homeless’. BHS make up both Male and Female Shoes Boxes and distribute them out during the month of December to groups in society who are vulnerable for many reasons.
We had a fabulous response to this hamper campaign this year. There were so many items left into school for dispatch to the charity. Many thanks for all the donations - they were taken today to the charity's base in Belfast where they were very greatly received. Many thanks and well done - these items will brighten up the day of someone who is less fortunate this Christmas time!
Today our pupils had their Christmas Dinner in school. Pupils enjoyed their meal in the school canteen in their class bubbles. Many thanks to Mrs Weldon and all the canteen staff on catering for such a large number of pupils and serving up a great Christmas treat! It was certainly enjoyed by all who attended.
Many thanks to all those who came along to our recent Open Evening. There were a number of appointments throughout the evening and all those in attendance were taken on a guided tour of our school and its facilities by our excellent Year 7 tour guides. Staff were on hand to answer any questions as our visitors moved throughout the school. Many thanks also to our Digital Leaders and Year 6 pupils who showcased a wide range of mathematical and ICT topics and skills. We look forward to our prospective new pupils joining our school in September 2022.
Please Note: If your child is starting pre-school or primary school in September 2022, you can apply online from midday Monday 10th January 2022 to midday on Friday 28th January 2022. Please note that places are not allocated on a first come, first served basis and applications will only be considered after the closing date.
