Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
As part of Book Week all Year 4 pupils had a visit from our local librarian Claire. Claire read lots of funny books which the children really enjoyed listening to and then she read some jokes. We were all delighted to hear that Crumlin library will be reopening for class visits in November and that the jokes Year 4 children have written will be displayed in it. Many thanks Claire!
Congratulation to all our Year 3 pupils who had their Service of Enrolment in school today. They were all amazing. Many thanks to their teachers for the preparation and to Father Colm who led the service in each of the classrooms.
Many thanks to Charlene from Devine Designs who came into school today to work with our Pupil Council to help design Road Safety Banners following work collected from the pupils throughout our Child Protection and Safeguarding Week. The Pupil Council hope to have the banners finished for Road Safety Week in November. This will bring them a step closer on their way to achieving Junior Road Safety Officer status.
Many thanks to Mr Damien Barkley (Life Support Instructor) who visited school today and completed refresher defibrillator training with some of our staff. Damien will be back in school after our Halloween Break to complete further staff training.
Squid Games
As often happens from time to time, many children are picking up on teenage/adult hype
around popular or current media productions.
EA Child Protection Services have received some helpline calls about Squid Game and have
provided us with a helpful update. Please take time to read it, making sure you know what
you need to in order to keep our children safe.

Mrs Campbell’s P6 class competed in the Mathematic World Cup. In preparation they participated in times tables circuits sessions and lesson laps where they had to solve problems together. For the main event they split into three teams and answered a variety of questions while following instructions for active learning. The event ended with a mindfulness session where the pupils were able to relax and breathe following the leader on screen. It was great to be part of something different for Numeracy in the classroom.
Museum on the Move visited Primary 4 today to complete a workshop on World War II and Primary 5 to complete an art appreciation workshop. A very prenjoyable and productive time was had by all involved.
