Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A massive thank you to the Friends of St Joseph's who presented Mr Traynor with a cheque for £10,000. The money raised last year through a number of fundraising ventures will be used for the purchase of 4 new interactive whiteboards.
Many thanks to all our parents and friends in the wider community for supporting all these ventures - keep up the great work!
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our recent Coffee Morning for MacMillian. We raised a fantastic £850. Thanks so much to Mrs Campbell and all the staff for organising the event and to the Friends of St. Joseph's for their kind support.
Many thanks to Mrs Matthew's Year 5 class for the wonderful assembly on new beginnings. The children spoke out so well and reminded the boys and girls in Years 5-7 to stay positive about their learning and gave lots of practical examples of what to do. An amazing song to finish about not giving up really lifted everyone's spirits.
Congratulations to our pupils of the month, accelerated reading award winners, music grade children and those who achieved 100% attendance last year on receiving their awards.
It was election fever time in Years 4 to 7 this week as the children got geared up for our Pupil Council elections once again! Lots of children applied using a specially designed application form where they had to explain why they would like a place on the Pupil Council. After all applications were processed, candidates had to read out their manifestos to their class mates, urging them to vote! Votes were then cast and posted into our ballot boxes! It was a tense time for many as the results came through, however, only one representative from each class could be successful! CONGRATULATIONS!! to all our successful candidates! We look forward to learning about the exciting ideas that you will be working on in this year! Watch out soon for the names of our successful candidates.
We are delighted to announce that we have received our official 5 star GAA status at an awards ceremony held in St. Mary’s University College, Belfast.
We look forward to continued support and collaboration from Gaelfast.
Fane Valley, one of Northern Ireland’s leading agricultural companies gave our Year 6 children the opportunity of working together to design some animal sculptures in a creative educational project in association with Arts & Business NI and in conjunction with Arts Care. Children from Mrs Wray’s class were invited to attend a celebration event at ‘Fane Valley Headquarters’. Children received a goody bag and got to mix with other children to talk about their experiences and showcase their animal sculptures. Well done Mrs Wray’s class!
