• Grandparents' Day

  Congratulations to our Year One pupils who welcomed their Grandparents into school as part of our Catholic Schools' Week celebrations. The children sang some beautiful songs in the Assembly hall and then brought their Grandparents back to their classrooms to show them their work and to give them a special gift they had made.

  

• Catholic Schools Week

  As part of our Catholic Schools' week celebrations we held three special Golden assemblies presenting awards to our pupils and delivering the important message of showing mercy to others. Thank you to Miss McMullan's Year 2 class, Miss McKay's Year 4 class and Mrs Wray's Year 6 class for their wonderful assemblies.

  

• Year 7 Disability NI

  Our Year 7 children had a special visit from Disability NI who showed them a variety of sports played by their members. The children got to sample curling, wheelchair basketball and to try out an adapted bicycle to name but a few activities. Every child received a certificate for their participation. Thank you to Mr O'Brien, our PE co-ordinator who organised the event.

  

• Year 6 Celebrate St Brigid's Day

  Thank you to Miss McAuley who returned to school on Monday to help our Year 6 children to make St. Brigid's crosses. The children were just brilliant and hopefully will be able to bring this skill to their families and remember it for next year.

  

• Year 5 Numeracy Workshop

  Our Year 5 children were taken through the mathematical world of Izacc 9 with the support of the pupils and staff of CBS in Belfast. The children had a wonderful time enhancing their mathematical skills and having lots of fun in the process.

  

• Childline visit Year 7

  Many thanks to Lisa and her team for the wonderful assembly and follow up classroom activities for our Year 7 children.

  

• Year 7 Visit Crumlin Integrated College

  Our Year 7 boys and girls were invited over to Crumlin Integrated College for STEM related activities. The children had a wonderful time with all the friendly staff and pupils.

  

• Snow Day in school!

  With the lovely fall of snow over night some of the classes were able to get out into the yard to have a little fun in the first snow of the year.

  

• Year 6 Cricket

  Our Year 6 children are enhancing their cricket skills over the next few weeks. The children were put through their paces and then developed their throwing and striking skills before playing a short game during their training sessions.

  

• Hot Chocolate Treat

  Our Year 1,2 and 3 children had a lovely hot chocolate treat after lunch to warm up their toes on this cold January Day. After exploring the snow in the yard the children were given a nice cup of hot chocolate cream and marshmallows in front of a virtual fireplace on the Activ board.
