  • Year 7(EA) Shared Education

    Thu 14 Nov 2024

Today the Year 7 and Year 8 students from our Shared Education Partnership came together for an afternoon of fun.  The children engaged in a variety of ice-breaker games such as Wink Murder, Spot the Difference, Would you Rather?, Place the Baton and Guess Who? to name but a few!

This was the start of our Year 7 and 8  'Transition Project' where the girls and boys will be visiting all the schools to get a taster session on some of the subjects they may study next year, and to ask questions to the Year 8’s about life in their school.  We have made lots of new friends that we are looking forward to joining up with again to get to know them better.

We were also delighted to see that that our work from last year on Ulster Scots featured in the latest edition of 'Sharing Works' which showcases and promoted Shared Education partnerships and projects.

  • Crumlin Model Railway Club

    Wed 13 Nov 2024

Crumlin Model Railway Club meet every Tuesday night in our school and have been working on the St. Joseph's Railway Station Model for some time.  Today the finished model was presented to school by members of the club.

It is indeed a fabulous piece of artwork.  The model will be on display in the foyer of our school for the next few weeks and will then be moved to our Rainbow Room.  We have no doubt that many children will benefit from this very generous gift for many years to come.

On behalf of our school community we would like to extend a massive thank you to all members of the club for their time, dedication and commitment to this project - what a lovely way to mark World Kindness Day!  Thank you.

    Wed 13 Nov 2024

Many thanks to Mrs. Lawlor's Year 6 class for their wonderful Anti-Bullying assembly this week, performed to all pupils from Year 1 - Year 7.  The children recited, performed drama and sang 'This is Me'.

Collectively they did a great job delivering and reinforcing this year theme 'Choose Respect' which linked so well with October Character Trait.  There were lots of Pebble Points collected from each class which will go towards our Year Group Awards for acts of respect which have been shown during October.  Well done girls and boys!

  • World Day of Kindness UK

    Wed 13 Nov 2024

Today is World Kindness Day.  It is celebrated annually on November 13th. Its purpose is to encourage individuals to be kind to one another, to themselves, and to the world around them.

Our Faith Group marked the day in school by visiting each classroom and presenting each class with a poster suggesting simple acts of kindness.  Their message was 'Let's Put the 'I' in Kind'.  This will hopefully serve as a reminder that simple acts of kindness can have a powerful impact on both individuals and and our school community as a whole.
