Our Accelerated Reading Programme is up and running for this school year. There has been a tremendous effort shown by all Year Groups and we already have a number of pupils who have achieved 100,000 and 500,000 words read. These boys and girls were presented with their certificates along with our Eco-School memberes who were presented with their badges at this week's assembly. Well done everyone and keep up the great work.

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded Elder Forest School status for our continued work in promoting outdoor learning. Mr Robert Thompson (EA – North Eastern Region) joined us for our plaque presentation.
Forest School is a unique method of outdoor education that allows children to develop confidence, independence, self-esteem and awareness and knowledge of the natural environment. We look forward to building further on the success of this very successful and enjoyable scheme.
Well done to all involved!
Many, many thanks to all who organised and supported our Coffee Morning for Macmillian Cancer Care. There were so many beautiful cakes, tray bakes and buns on display. There was a great atmosphere in the hall with so many staff, volunteers from 'The Friends of St Joseph's', grandparents, parents, past pupils and friends from the local community who popped in to show their support.
We are delighted to announce to date over £1,100 has been raised for this very worthy cause. We will announce the final total next week. Again many thanks to all - what a team effort and what a great morning!
