Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Thank you to all of our Year 4 pupils who created a beautiful Holy Souls Prayer Service to celebrate the Feast Days of All Saints and All Souls. The Prayer Service has been recorded and watched virtually by all of our pupils and has been forwarded to parents and guardians via SeeSaw to view. Welld one girls and boys.
Mr McCarthy's Year 7 class had a wonderful time at Titanic Belfast as part of our partnership project. Pupils got to experience a new guided tour of the SS Nomadic (the original tender ship to RMS Titanic) and two newly updated workshops entitled 'Get the Message' and 'Abandon Ship'. This was in addition to a guided tour of the Titanic Experience 'Full Speed Ahead'.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience with the expert crew learning all about the Titanic from its origins inside Belfast's dock all the way to how the wreck was discovers by Dr Robert Ballard.
Thank you Titanic Belafst for a very informative and most enjoyable day trip.
Congratulations to all the children who have read 500,000 words

Congratulations to Mrs Lawlor's Year 6 Class who are class leaders this half term and were rewarded with a class party.
Watch Out .... lots of spooky things going on in St Joseph's today!
HAVE A SAFE AND RELAXING HALLOWE'EN BREAK!
PS Our witch was called Glinda this year!
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who made a shoebox for our recent 'Drop Inn' Appeal. The 'Drop Inn' charity was just bowled over by your generosity. Thank you!
Today we celebrated our October Golden Assemblies.
Mrs McConkey's Year 2 class led our Year 1-3 Assembly and Mrs Matthew's Year 5 class led our Year 4-7 Assembly. The children were excellent and their assemblies informed and entertained us with readings, drama and music and delivered very timely messages.
Pupils were presented with certificates for Pupil of the Month, Accelerated Reading and the newly elected Digital Leaders were presentes with their badges. We also had a number of pupils who brought in medals, certificates and trophies from home to celebrate achievement outside of school.
Well done to all our boys and girls - we are very proud of you all!
We were delighted with the response to our Hallowe'en Costume Swap. The Eco-Committee raised £210 which will be used to purchase a new water butt and some plants to enhance our outdoor science classroom. Well done and thank you to everyone who donated a costume and helped with this recycling project.
This week all classes have been taking part in activities and events to mark Maths Week Ireland. We have been taking part in online quizzes, problem solving tasks, outdoor activities, ICT tasks and researching mathematicians all in an effort to promote a positive attitude towards the learning of maths!
On 'Love your Library Day' during Book Week NI all Year 5 pupils had a visit from our local librarian Claire. Claire read the children lots of Hallowe'en stories which they really enjoyed listening to and chatting about. We are also delighted that our class visits to Crumlin library will be recommencing in November and look forward to making the best of the facilities available. Many thanks Claire for the visit and the Book Week NI book marks.

On Sunday 9th October 6 of our Year 7 pupils along with 3 of our teachers headed off to Bordeaux in France as part of our Erasmus Programme. Our second Erasmus project with our partner schools in UK, Spain, Denmark and France, is called ‘Building a Better World’. Erasmus is a British Council Initiative which allows schools throughout Europe to be partnered together to work on different topics and activities.
In Bordeaux the St Joseph's clan joined other visiting schools from Spain, Bath (England) and Denmark for a 5 day educational visit. All involved had an amazing time and there were a few very tried boys and girls (and teachers too) who returned back to school on Thursday afternoon.
We look forward to our next partnership meeting when the schools involved will be coming to visit and stay with us in March 2023.
