  • May Golden Assemblies

    Fri 26 May 2023

This week we marked the end of another month in school with our May Golden Assemblies.  This month it was the turn of Mrs McCallum's Year 1 class to lead our Year 1-3 Assembly and Mrs Campbell's Year 6 pupils to lead our Year 4-7 Assembly.

Mrs McCallum's boys and girls delivered an assembly on the theme of 'Mary; Queen of Peace' and the assembly from Mrs Campbell's girls and boys enabled us all to focus on the theme of 'Identity'.  All of the children were wonderful representatives for their class and school.

We also had time to sing Happy Birthday to all of our May boys and girls as well as present our monthly awards and deliver some important messages.  Well done everyone - the sun is shining, it's nearly June and the Summer Holidays are getting even closer!

  • Shared Education Celebration Event

    Wed 24 May 2023

On Tuesday 23rd May pupils from the four partner schools came together to celebrate another successful Shared Education Project this year.  They had a great day doing dodgeball, drama, art, team sports, Irish songs and verses, dance and other fun games.  There were 190 students involved and they were very lucky to be supported by Crumlin Collective Residents who supplied us with a variety of snacks and drinks for the  event.

All students received a certificate to praise their efforts following all the work they have completed with their friends in our established partnership.  We would like to thank Stylus Engraving and Crumlin Residents Collective for their continued support towards our work.  We look forward to next year and the continuation of our sucessful work to date.

  • Dogs Trust Visit Year 4

    Tue 23 May 2023

Julie from the Dogs Trust in Ballymena came and visited all the classes in Primary 4 today.

The children had a very informative visit.  Julie talked about when it is best to leave dogs alone and when we should give them space, she talked about how we show dogs that we love and care for them and also how we model safe and positive behaviours around dogs.  We chatted and talked through different scenarios and learned what to do if a dog runs towards you and what to do when you meet a dog that you don’t know. We learned so much about how we can help dogs which is really really important.

We all had a great day and got some puppy cuddles at the end!

  • Roots Of Emapthy Baby Visit

    Tue 23 May 2023

Mrs Downey's Year 5 class are loving their visits from our tiny teacher Eoghan through our Roots of Empathy programme. They have watched him reach many milestones and cannot believe how many things he can now do compared to when we started having visits with him in October. He really is the favourite event in the class timetable and the children are learning so much about empathy through these lessons.
