  • Olympic Torch

    Fri 27 May 2016

    An Olympic  torch that helped bring the flame from Greece to Rio visited the school today.  Many thanks to Deirdre McKenny who carried the torch in Brazil for coming in and sharing her fabulous experience with the children.  Deirdre also presented medals to all our winners from the competitive sports days that took place in school over the past few weeks.  Well done to everyone who won and everyone who took part in all the events.

    Many congratulations to the boys and girls from Years 5-7 on a fantastic sports day. A great performance from everyone. Many thanks to all the parents who turned out to cheer on the children and to Mr Griffin who provided music and Mr O'Brien who organised the sports day so well.

    Congratulations to our fabulous Year 1-4 athletes who competed so well during sports day. Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who turned up to cheer on the children. Thank you to Mr O'Brien who organised sports day and Mr Griffin who provided the music.
  • First Communion

    Congratulations to our wonderful Year 4 children who received the Sacrament of Eucharist. Thank you to Fr. Chris and the Year 4 team for the beautiful ceremony. Our choir were just fantastic and many thanks to the whole community for the amazing celebration in the school hall afterwards.
  • Pupil Council Get Connected!

    Members of our Year 5 Pupil Council had the opportunity to visit Mossley Mill, Netwownabbey to participate in an interactive engagement event for primary school children across the Borough.  Anna Bunting, Ryan McQuade and Callum Dugdale enjoyed a fun-packed day meeting lots of other school Councillors from neighbouring schools, at the 'Kidzconnect' event  The children were involved in activities such as a walking debate, building their ideal town, designing their perfect play park and even questioning local Councillors!  Our Pupil Council members also discussed their understanding of recycling and answered questions like ..'If I was Mayor for the day I would...'.  Well done to our Pupil Council members who thoroughly enjoyed and engaged in the day and a big thank you to Antrim and Newtownabbey Council for inviting us all along!

  • Transformer in School

    Many thanks to Duffy's Circus for bringing their transformer into school for the boys and girls to see. It was a strange sight to see bumblebee enter our playground and change into a robot before our eyes.
  • Parents Drugs & Alcohol Awareness Workshop

    Many thanks to the parents and young people from Loch Mór who attended the recent Drugs and Alcohol Awareness workshop. Thanks to Martin, the facilitator from Ascert and to Mrs McGuinness for making the initial contact. A worthwhile night for all who attended.
  • Clonard Icon Visit

    Many thanks to the Stagg Family who kindly brought the Clonard Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual help into school. It was such a special and prayerful time for all of the children in the school. Fr Colm led prayers with our Foundation and Key Stage One children. Fr Chris led prayers with our Key Stage 2 children. It was such a special occasion during the Month of Our Lady. 
  • New School Motto

    Our Pupil Council met with Mr Traynor and representatives from our Board of Governors to shortlist the ideas for our new school motto. The finalists will soon be revealed so that everyone can vote for their favourite.
  • Representing the County

    Many congratulations to Odhrán Rooney who represented the school as a member of the Antrim County Team to play against Fermanagh at the senior game at Breffni Park on Sunday 15th May. Congratulations also to Jude McPeake who represented his club at an Antrim Match a few weeks earlier, a great honour for both boys.
