  • Feast of St. Joseph

    Wed 20 Mar 2019
Fr. John came into school today to celebrate the feast of St. Joseph with us. The boys and girls attended two assemblies led by Fr. John. He spoke about who St. Joseph was, read the story of Jesus getting lost in the temple and we sang songs together to remember the patron of our school. Thank you so much to Fr. John for coming to see us today.
  • Let's Celebrate - It's St. Patrick's Day!

    Fri 15 Mar 2019

Many congratulations to our wonderful Year 2 children on their St. Patrick's Day Concert. They were just amazing, wonderful dancing, singing, acting, story-telling and a few jokes thrown in as well!  Thank you to the Year 2 team for the great concert and for their interpretation of River dance! Many thanks to Mrs Weldon for the beautiful St. Patrick's Day shortbread for our parents who attended the show.  Our Irish Dancers were just brilliant, they get better and better each year. Many thanks to Mrs Cunningham for bringing the group together and for all the rehearsals.

Thank you so much to everyone who made our Green Day in school so special. There was a sea of green across St. Joseph's in classrooms, the assembly hall and our school yards.  Enjoy the long weekend and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  • Year 3 Big Bedtime Read and FRED Presentation

    Wed 13 Mar 2019

Thank you to all our Year 3 children who came to school for their special book read at bedtime. Mrs Lawlor, Mrs Sheppard and Miss Rafferty read each of the classes a few bedtime stories as the children were all dressed in their pyjamas, with many hugging their favourite teddy. All children had the opportunity to enjoy hot chocolate and some very yummy biscuits.

Our Year 3 children were also presented with their FRED (Fathers Reading Every Day) Certificates.  Thank you to Mrs Cunningham for organising this pilot project – the feedback on its impact has been very positive.  Remember to keep up the great reading boys and girls – this is only the beginning!

Mrs Matthew’s Year 5 class look forward to the big celebratory day on Tuesday 12th March. Watch this space for lots of photographs.

  • Fairtrade Tuckshop

    Fri 01 Mar 2019
Our Pupil Council recently hosted their annual Fairtrade tuckshop to celebrate ‘Fairtrade Fortnight.’  The Pupil Council invited Years 4, 5, 6 and 7 classes to visit their tuckshop and buy a Fairtrade product. Children were very pleased to be able to purchase a small Fairtrade bun or banana to help support farmers in developing countries.  Well done to ‘Our Pupil Council’ for hosting this very meaningful event which helped raise awareness of the importance of Fairtrade.
